My daughter is stranded in NYC with a 1982 Rabbit Diesel that needs a fuel injection pump. Her mechanic is having trouble finding one quickly. Can anyone help?

An easy procedure to follow, most will give up on these pumps, it is the "heart" of the car. I hope you are using a confident and enthusiastic VW mechanic.
