To be honest, I don't think you'll do better than that. They have a promotion for the XPS 16 with the lesser of the ATI video card with an instant $404 savings, once configured to what you want it ends up being $1500...

Have the XPS 16 in the EPP section for $1022. You can *try* using this link, select "Higher Edu Faculty, Student, Staff" and see if the price sticks if you dont have a .edu email.

Well this is the thing... I had a regular XPS 15" from last year... It bit the dust, but my warranty covered it and they said they were gonna replace it with something similar or better...

HDATI video card (huuuuuge improvement over the Nvidia)

The ONLY thing I lost from this new laptop is one of three USB ports :P

Only complaint I have about this laptop is that it gets hot insanely fast... I immediately bought a laptop cooler and always use it... Trust me, you'll need it

They might not have deals for XPS, but I know there are always deals for Inspiron and Studio laptops. There are sometimes Outlet coupons, which can add up to a really great deal. I can honestly tell you that you can get the same specs of an XPS for almost half price in a lesser name laptop--the differences really aren't that big, if at all.
