    Discover Media/Pro and Carplay/Auto

Hi, i'm about to place an order for a 2017 Tiguan TDI240 here in Sweden but hesitating about the different nav options.
I'm also at the limit of my planed budget.

As i understand Carplay and Auto works with the basic infotainment system but not fully supported by the active display (instument cluster), like the Discovery nav's are. Meaning i wont get the google map graphics inside my Active Display.

Is it worth the extra ~$2000 to get the Discovery Pro?
A larger screen is included Pro, but is the resolution also bigger?

Does the Discovery Media have everything Pro does (minus the screen size)?

Or should i just skip the nav completely and use the mobile phone instead?
What is your experience from using carplay/auto?

Skipping nav would leave room in the budget for other options, like panoramic roof.

Dash display only on the highline dash.

Mine has NAV, but Garmin and TomTom are fine... Plus you get free
updated with those, you have to pay for your radio NAV updates.

I personally would not order a radio with NAV... When I did the buy-back,
    the 2015 has it, but I don't use it, I have a Garmin... I don't really even
need the backup cam, but it's there...

    Don't care about Carplay either...

You can always update later with like, a used RNS510 from eBay or something.
