    Need help costing suspension.

I need help *CHOOSING* suspension. This is my first post, so forgive me if I act like a noob.

I have a 98 Golf GTI. It needs suspension all the way around. I want to get something that enables me to take corners aggressively & with confidence, without breaking the bank. If it happens to sit lower than before, that's OK too. I look forward to any feedback.

GTI already has the sport suspension, you need to reduce body roll. That will be
done with adjustable end links. Lowering will also help handling, at the expense
    of comfort.

Tire side-wall length and material is also a factor. Even if you have a sport suspension,
but if you buy cheap tires, you get Tire Tuck, and the car dips to that side. Tires make a
    big difference in handling.

So, say you have 205/55/16 tires. Going to a 17" rim, and with 205/50/17 tires (close to
the 16" as possible), will even tighten up the turns because the tires are less forgiving.
The taller the sidewall, the more bounce in the tire, the more the tire compresses in turns,
    or tuck in turns.

If you need all new suspension parts, and got the money, then you may as well buy the
upgraded suspension parts, which usually just means better bushings. They are also less
forgiving and will tighten up the suspension. Any part that can compress, will move the
    suspension part and change geometry.

I do need suspension parts. What upgraded parts do you recommend?

IDPARTS sells suspension kits, and you can find them on eBay, but the eBay ones, if not careful,
won't be any better, and could quite possibly be worse; not last as long as OE.

You'll pay a good $840.00 for just Bilstein front struts, and rear shock kit.
Coil-over Suspension Lowering kit w/ADJ Damper for $500.
Saw adjustable ones, whole coil-over kit for $320.00.

The other parts, like control arms, ball joints, end links, tie rods, many kits out there too...
