    Hello nitroscope8,
I too saw your post and would like to know if you could review my VIN and let me know if we qualify for the Valve Body TSB 309329 or VWP-10-06 . I'm in Canada. It's a 2007 Rabbit 2.5l Tiptronic.

    Hi nitroscope8,

I saw your helpful comments in this thread (http://volkswagenownersclub.com/vw/showthread.php/27158-2007-Rabbit-auto-transmission-issues) and saw you offered this to another user:

"A TSB is NOT a warranty extension. It's simply there to assist the technican in properly diagnosing and repairing a vehicle. They do usually include vin ranges so not all tsb's apply to all cars. PM me your vin and ill tell you if your car has the 100k mile valve body warranty"

I fear that my transmission may be suffering the same fate as OP, however my car is currently under 100k and was wondering if I could take you up on your offer to that other user to check my VIN?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Nitroscope,

I am looking at a 11 Touareg TDI. 75k looks nice. Kinda spendy.
How reliable are they? Any known things to look for? I am handy with
a scan tool and love working on my 03 TDI Jetta. Looking to move up to a 4WD.
Live in Wyoming and a low 2wd is not cutting it.
Can the Touareg be lifted a little? Out here we get deep snow, and ground clearance is the
    name of the game.
    Looking forward to your thoughts.

    Hello Nitroscope,

    Hope you are still around.

    I imported a used VW 1.4 TSI from Japan back in June this year. Right now the car is with a VW tech and he says there are several errors he picked with the scan machine as follows;
    000714 Turbo / Supercharger B
008801 Boost Pressure Control Valve (N249)
    008803 Turbo/Super Charger Boost System
    013174 Intake Air Temperature Sensor 3 (G520)
    012296 Camshaft Position Sensor (G40)
    000808 Knock Sensor 1 (G61)
049441 No Communication with ABS Brake Control Module
049409 No Communication with Transmission Control Module

I also noticed the engine rattles on stand by mode and shuts off when the AC is switched on, the car has lost all its power and will not boost now. There is a huge miss on the accelerator meaning that one has to press the pedal hard to get the car to start moving. What is your advice, do I get a new engine or is there hope fro the engine as it is. Also, what is the interpretation of these error codes?

Hey Nitro. Could I purchase one of your Sirius wiring harnesses or get the diagram and parts list to do it myself? I'm willing to pay in both cases!

Hey Nitroscope, I'm new to the forum. I saw some of your posts and thought you might be able to help. I purchased a 97 Jetta GLX VR6. I had to remove the A/C comp. cause it was seized. In the process of that and several other repairs I've broken the 2 hoses to the "connecting pipe" and the accordion type hose that has the special ends on it that goes from the air pump to another part, not sure what it is. Anyway, I've been informed that all these hoses are obsolete. Can you help?

hello nitroscope8, pookie here. you've responded to puzzles I've had in the past and I just wanted to tell you about a solution I had to a real mystery with odor/water in wheel well. It turned out water was getting into the car via the vent behind the trunk liner just forward of the right rear taillight. I put sealant around the vent and did a hose check and it worked. What is that vent for? Is it to exhaust cabin air?
hope you have a good summer.

So, my airbag light just came one, just as you predicted it would. Yay! VAG-com tells me the fault is

02512 - Pressure Sensor for Seat Occupied Recognition (G452)
    011 - Open Circuit - Intermittent - MIL

Which I take to mean exactly what you said, the passenger side wiring harness caused a fault. Also, the passenger seat doesn't recognize when someone is sitting in it.

The dealer says it'll be about $260. Does that sound about right?

edit: Also, is this a repair I could make myself? It's an '08 Rabbit (forgot to mention) so there's no recall like on the '07s.

You're welcome! Have your dealer check your VIN for recalls. There was a recall on the airbag system which just may resolve your issue for free!

    Nitro,

I'm new to the VW Rabbit forum. I wanted to say thanks for posting so much info. You, and a handful of other regulars, have given me so much insight on my 07' Rabbit. The 'Common Rabbit problems...' thread , alone, has been the best resource of info. I also wanted to see if you had any recommendations as to how I could locate and repair my airbag connector? The airbag light came on 2 weeks after I bought the car, and I'm trying to do as much DIY as I can. After VAGing, it's a connector, for sure. If this is something I HAVE to take to the dealer, what do you think is fair price for the service? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

They are both evap leaks. If you smell gas then you may have a leak around the fuel pump seal which is under the rear seat. Check the gas cap also. The N80 purge valve may also be at fault.

If you are having difficulty starting after a fillup then you may have other more severe problems that need addressing.....such as a fuel tank and evap system.
