sales:
-Went to McKenna HB
they were very unhelpful, knew nothing about the cars (early 2007), immature when I decided to not buy from them (angry emails).
-Downtown LA
good straightforward service. But got some bs from the "detailing" (taking off the plastic) about paying attention to detail when they were just lagging.

service:
-Pacific.
Horrible.. took long, they let me wait in the waiting room and didn't tell me my car was done. I noticed it sitting out and I had to question them.
-Santa Monica:
It's all right. Prices are on the lower end. But I went to get my door latch replaced and they ended up staining my seat. So far no resolution (happened few months ago).

Parts:
-Garden Grove:
a lot of old white ladies in the parts dept. seemed like nobody knew what was going on. but I got my parts and for cheap! They're new so they have some specials.

Hope this helps someone.

Have you tried Bozzani VW? I haven't gotten anything good from them....

try Pasadena, its great , gave us a lot of extras that we didn't even ask for, very friendly and they don't try to force things either.

Downtown LA VW still gets my vote. They've been around for a long time which must count for something. I bought a (WELL) used Porsche Speedster from them in the mid-'60's from a great VW salesman named Otto Bahn (formerly from an Inglewood dealership).

Bozzani in Covina seems cool, at least the Internet Sales Manager, Scott. If you're looking for a new VW he'll give you the lowest prices I've seen, nice guy too, not a scummy salesman.

Santa Monica, I bought from. Nothing really special, nice but tried to sell me a car at a high price until I emailed them Scott's offer and they matched it (Santa Monica is closer to me). Financing guy shook my hand and said "We made no money off this deal, congratulations" and I was like "I did my research".

Getting it serviced as we speak, some Check Engine Light issue, will post when I get it back, make sure they didn't ruin my ride already :)

Got mine from Woodland Hills... no idea on how they were since I didn't personally get it -_-

Woodland Hills wouldn't budge on their prices... other places were desperate to match my lowest offers... not a knock on them, its how they run their business.

Downtown LA tried to sell me a loaner/demo car with only 40 miles on it, but I got Santa Monica to match it with a car that came in three days prior that didn't even have the hubcaps or license frames attached! :) Dealer was a little big and sweaty, reminds me of Borat's friend in that movie, Tony I think, internet sales manager as well. He was cool too, but he had the "salesman" feel and style (absurdly confident, "I got da prices in town", dissing other dealers), I never got that from Bozzani or Pasadena.
