Located in Vermont

1983 VW Rabbit GTI
Body is in great condition, though it does need paint to make it shiny.
83mm pistons from TT to make 10:1 and 1.9 liters (bored)
Head job with new seals, etc. and performance cam for more TQ
Bilstein struts/shocks with Hor 1.5" lowering springs
210mm flywheel
New windshield 4 years ago using rubber instead of glue gasket
Best part... 5 speed close ratio with Quaife LSD.
Sunroof, flip vent side windows
Front seats are from a Golf something-a-rather. Better on my back. Rear is stock GTI, but it doesn't look pretty.
Comes with 14" GTI rims (one is slightly bent due to pothole) and Toyo tires (all mounted and ready to go) along with 13" steels painted black with 155-80-13 studded snows (90% tread) mounted.

I will get more current photos up in two weeks. I am redoing the headliner shortly (already have the material).

Needs:
Paint to make it shiny
New rug (or good mats)

Steve

Here are some pictures that I took last week:

NOTE: Since these photos, I have installed the 1.9 engine (I had it out of the car this summer and running a stock 1.8 Golf GL engine). In the photos is the stock and very dirty stock engine. The engine with the green valve cover is the 1.9. I completely cleaned the engine and transmission while swapping it in this past weekend.

Great car, Id love to have it, but that was some shatty looking wireing in the engine bay.

LOL... the wires you see are related to the driving lights. The local shop ran out of the correct size wiring loop and I haven't been back yet to get some to tuck the wires away properly.

I have been out of town with no computer.

Asking price is $2500 obo.

Once I get my computer fixed I will post up pictures with the built engine installed, etc. I do not have a way to get the photos off the camera, resized, and posted to my site, etc. until the computer is fixed.

Looking at what Rabbits are going for at Vortex and to entice a quicker sale, the asking price is $2,000.

It no longer has the driving lights as I dropped one on the floor while removing the bumper for painting. I guess I have a bright back-up light for my F250 now.

Computer is still dead so I can't post new pictures with the rebuilt engine install quite yet. Should be this week. I just ordered a new MB, chip, memory, and video card (my old system was out dated so the purchase of a new MB lead me down the road of needing everything). Turns out my HD is crap also (I just bought it 1.5 years ago... SATA 300GB). (whine-whine-whine)

the asking price is $2,000.

Asking is $2000. Original was $2500, but I want to cut through the low-balling BS associated with selling a car.
