That stuff by the tree sure didn't look like an M5,

Hopefully this will reduce the desire to "race" for some.
Imo, if you wanna kill yourself, do it, but that kid took out four of his buddies with him...
So freaking young too...terrible...

As an 18 year old, this pisses me off even more than most of you slightly older guy.
Pushing cars to the limit like that is retarded, i once hit 115 in my camry when i was 16, stupid decision, and thankfully i wasnt hurt... i was on an empty road.
Since, the fastest I've been is 89, on I-94 in Illinois, where people go 85 on a regular basis.
I've had one citation, and theyre not fun. 126$......
so I've already got my 50$ set aside to join the Madison Sports Car Club so I can do High speed Auto Cross and parking lot autocross safely and legally.
No sense being stupid, 50$ plus entry fees is alot less than 126$ and potential hospital stays.

god, I'm just pissed.

And being dead and taking your friends with you...

That goes without saying, but very very true none the less.

Im on both sides of the fence here. On one hand, ya it sucks the kid died and those others, even tho he brough it on his self. On the other hand, he was also an idiot tryin to show off. From readin the other forum, if its true, it said that he had multiple tickets and stuff before. So why was he allowed to be takin daddys M5 to drive around, assuming here that his dad lets him drive it, not the kid sneakin it out.

It's always sad to see young kids get hurt being stupid.

I agree with the posts on the other forum... our driver education in this country sucks. As a 20 year old, one of the best things my parents did was send me to a real driving school. Whether you drive a high performance car or a pinto, there is no excuse for not having proper driving training.

As car and driver says, "The safest car is the one well driven." You can have all the airbags, SRS, performance tires, and Traction control systems, but that can not overcome stupidity.

At least it wasn't on a public road.

he deserved it..

I think what you meant to say is: "His dad deserved to be kicked in the balls for letting loose a kid that young with car that powerful. Maybe if his dad had shown him a picture of some similar accident it would have been avoided."

No one deserves to die.

No one deserves to die.

About deserving to die, it's all about personal philosophy.
No matter what that kid deserved, the other four died because of HIS actions.

And his dad can actually be held accountable. It can be argued that driving that car was akin to having a loaded gun. In vehicular homicide/manslaughter you car is considered a weapon.

So yeah....good F parenting...

As a 20 year old, I realize my inexperience moreso than when I was 18. I was a speedster when I was younger, not so much nowadays.

But, this does make you realize that a driving school is like ESP, but transferable to any vehicle you own.

Not defending him here - but at the very least, he wasn't on public roads.

I wonder if the airbags went off.

Edit: Holy necrothread batman! Didn't realize I was browsing this far back.

We all have had "scares", probably good enough to smarten us up in our youths. Too bad he didnt have his sooner (and not dying sooner, thats not what I meant. Just his wake up call). But this is just sad. Thats all I can say about it.

Maybe he just couldn't find the deploy wings button. Silly boy, only Thunderbirds and Talons can fly! M5, what kind of bird is that? Please!
