I bumped a guy at the light goin about 5 mph. Ya wasnt that bad obviously, but enough to break off one of the headlight attachment clips. Now that headlight doesnt sit right. There have been many worse on here I know.

In my 1980 Rabbit 15+ yrs ago. I was trying to make a U-Turn and thought I would floor it....Lost traction...Hit fire hydrant... The car looked like someone took a can opener from the front right headlight to the front edge of the right rear door (4dr) the from right front tire was ripped completely loose of the suspension (it was 180degrees backards). I never got it fixed and not injuries.

before I moved to California, the worst traffic I ever experienced was getting stuck behind a tractor.

I had someone last week who got mad at because I was braking to avoid hitting the car in front of me. She was riding my bumper and flipping me off. She some how got in front of me and kept slamming on her brakes to try and get me to hit her. I just backed off and watched her try and cut across three lanes of traffic to make her exit.

Bad Personalized License Plates are the worst.

Don't they know they cause accidents!

Of course I got from an auto trans to a manual in the rabbit, so traffic just got worse. It's long island, the LIE is called the Long Island Distressway.

That's why I loved my huge jeep. If you cut infront of me or tried to "play," it was me who would win. The tires were large enough, and the front diff was locked, so I could easily climb up on most small imports if need be.

Of the three accidents i was in, all of them met the hitch face first.

Nitro,

You should meet my Freightliner FL50. You would really be able to climb up the back of a small import :)

if someone is behind you like that...dont brake with your break hit the e-brake...your rear break lights wont come on...and let them roll right into your rear...and tell the cop you let off the accelerator to compensate for the car infront of you slowing down...and that they were tail gating you and you were afraid to break because it might be to sudden because something like this would happen but apparently they were so close it didnt matter and happened anyway...If they rear end you its their fault automatically anyway... Then get the insurance money and buy a sweet GTI rear or R32 rear...

ive gotten some tail gators off of me that way..they didn't hit me..but they wised up really quick...

Last week I was going to the VW dealer in Owings Mills. When leaving I made a right out of the lot and traffic was backed up beacuse of an accident that shutdown the road (usually a very busy road). I got to the next light and made a left into a community to turn around. I got back out to the light and was waiting for the green light (no right on red). The lady behind me decides she doesn't want to wait for for the light to change so she drives around me and from the center lane tries to turn right. She plows into the side of minivan that was turning left. Luckily at the low speeds nobody was hurt, but the minivan driver was extremely pissed. I did pull my car off to the side to help anybody in the accident and act as a witness.

wouldn't insurance just pay for the book value of the car? and i mean you'd still have to pay off the car. BTW when I occasionally drove the beater 95 corolla (bought it to learn how to drive stick), there was an @sshole in an F-150 with HID's without projectors as well as those roof mounted foglights and iono probably about 10 foglights total (talk about overkill) anyway was tailgating me constantly for nearly 2 miles and all those damn lights were annoying as fack. So I started to go slower (I was doing 80 in a 60 initially), slowed down to 70, then 60. He clearly had plenty of space to pass me since I was in the middle lane and no cars in the left lane. He still doesn't pass me. Driving in the beater that I didn't care about I decided to do the right thing and slam on my brakes. Have you ever seen an F-150 try to brake pretty hard? Well anyway he can't brake fast enough so he swerves left as hard as he can and hit's the median. I continue to drive off since it is at no point my fault. Yes I was an asshole but hey, he started it.

lmao thats crazy same almost happened to me though

I was crusining at about 80 and traffic came to a stand still, I stopped nearly hitting to truck in front of me, I then look in the rear view and see a civic still speeding:eek: and I start screaming:D: lol cause their still going full speed, then at the last minute they swerve into the emergency lane and stop :not: lol then after about 10 sec of sitting there they get back behind me then into the right lane and speed away and yesss I saw who was in the car......3 teenage girls lol

Saw a full size steel ladder laying in the middle of the right lane on the PA Turnpike this morning. People were swerving to avoid it. A few unfortunate individuals seemed to have run over it from before, since some of the rungs appeared dented in. I don't even want to imagine what a ladder could do to your car at those speeds. And that's exactly why I try to switch lanes whenever a shady utility truck gets in front of me.

i was driving home from school last year (now graduated) and was driving down us421 in westville indiana and behind was a kid whom i had no tolerance. at the time i was driving my 1994 gmc 1500. so when the a-hole saw who i was he tailgated me. as soon as he did that i locked the brakes up. he was in an early 90's buick. the nose of that car about hit the ground. he then swerves sidways and stops. i was pi$$ed.

another fun way to get a tailgater back is to not brake check, but, let off the gas and drive the center of the road. DO NOT let them pass and when they turn their brights on just go slower. keep that up for as long as possible and they will not be happy campers. i promise. :p

was in almost stopped traffic and i see this ass speeding down the emergency lane, so naturally i move my car half and half so he can't pass but proceeds to ride my ass harder than anything i have ever done. i ended up letting him go by because i didnt feel like being in an accident with paper plates still on.

ive got a couple good ones, now that im reflecting back--theyre not VW related

about 6-7 years ago, my friend had just leased a new BWM 325i. he drove to my house, and we were on our way to Glen Burnie, MD via 695. traffic backed up for light years, so he decides to take it to the median, and do about 135 for about 5 minutes. it was a near death experience then, but a fun story now. all of the people in the car were mortified and our brains were in overdrive, along with the car.

then about 5 years ago, when i still had my SRT-4 (now deceased), i was on my way to my friends house. there is this road that winds around a large hill with no signs, 2 lanes, and a 35mph speed limit for a 90degree turn. well one day, they were having construction and no signs were up...just some cones. im going around this corner, and stopped dead center in the middle of the road was an 04 camry. she apparently almost ran over the construction worker. well, i couldnt stop quick enough, so i plowed right through her rear end, took her muffler off the brackets...and where did it end up? her muffler went straight through my grill, my intercooler, and my radiator, took them and planted them on top of my engine block. then to make matters worse, the rear end of her car was higher than mine, so her butt digs into my hood, lifts it and turns it into an upside-down V. i hit my head on the steering wheel before the airbags deployed, banged my knees on the steering console, and was so dazed, i couldnt walk straight.

great stuff.

Can i include photos? lol this has happened twice now and its starting to scare me.

About 3 blocks down the beach from my house is a very tight 90 left to 90 right. all along the road on the right is beach until you take the first left. then its little beach houses all crammed on this corner.. about three and then the very tight 90 right and about 5 more houses all with drive ways into the street....

I really like these corners and with my typical schedule of driving home at 11pm theres never anyone around. but driving to work at 1 and 2 pm each afternoon the place can be a fookin zoo. So i tend to drive them pretty agressively if there is no one in front of me..

About 2 months ago i'm cruisin along the road holding about 25 to 30 around the corners with about 3 or 4 car lengths between me and the car ahead of me. as i roll around the second turn a black 2008ish saleen mustang comes tearing @ss out of this drive way about 10 ft in front of me. I lock up the brakes because there is oncoming traffic like 5 ft left of me and at this point lay on the horn ( colorado tactics). I miss the guy by maybe 6 inches and he locks up his brakes and stops. this sunburned fatass white guy rolls out of this car and starts screaming in pidgin at me.

Second incident was heading to werk today. I will admit I was pushing it pretty hard cuz the fedex delivery guy i work with was in his truck behind me . but a lifted black toyota 4 runner came flying out of this driveway in the middle of the second corner. Both times i have narrowly avoided totaling my rabbit.

::Edit::These are just my rabbit stories i've had a lot of driving incidents. not wrecks... just incidents....

i was driving to school with my dad since its like 3 minutes away, and i dont walk in the morning and some lady was trying to cut us off going on route 46 and my dad obviously wasnt in the mood to let her she tried to cut us and jam on the brakes, so did my dad... she ended up in a ditch.
