: windshield wipers
linus 07-29-2007, 04:41 PM Hello,
My Rabbit is my first car in my life :), which means I do not have enough knowledge about vehicles. I need to buy new windshield wipers, but I'm wondering what I should buy.
I could see ordinary wipers which cost about $7 in Walmart. I could also find wipers from Michelin that look like current wipers. They cost about $14 for each.
Are those expensive wipers worth the price? Or, should I use the expensive one due to the compatibility? Do I need to use wipers from VW? Any suggestion?
Thanks.

ikonxone 07-29-2007, 05:52 PM since this is your first car, keep the phrase "you get what you pay for" in your head when buying parts.
Justin W 07-29-2007, 06:08 PM Do conventional style wipers even fit on our cars?
BTW - as Jeri said just get the OEM wipers from the VW dealer.
Do it right.
Thug Bunny 07-29-2007, 10:10 PM When did you buy your rabbit and why is windshield wipers your first concern??
sarah 07-29-2007, 10:46 PM Are your current ones streaking? If not don't bother replacing them. I personally would not buy them from the dealer.

I have not tried conventional style wipers, yet. I don't know whether or not Michelin's wipers fit on our cars, either. They look very similar. BTW, I prefer safer way, OEM wipers :)

I bought my rabbit September 2006. Since I have not used my wipers frequently, my wipers do not make thick streaks. But, the windshield is not as clean as it might be; so, I think it's time to change them.

They are streaking little bit, and I have used them for about 10 months. I think it's time to change them because there are unexpected storms in summer. Can I ask you how to get them if you do not buy them from the dealer?

I loved them Snotty. They are more expensive but well worth it.

And they are a direct fit to the Rabbit wiper arms?
snottyrabbit 07-31-2007, 05:51 AM Excellent, I am running on a year now...it is probably about time for a change....excellent.
sarah 07-31-2007, 09:16 AM And they are a direct fit to the Rabbit wiper arms?
Yes they are
LarryZ 07-31-2007, 05:18 PM Yes they are Do they solve the water pull-back issue on the driver's side? I finally got to drive in a driving rain, and I agree with the posters in the other thread that an abnormally large slug of water pulls back onto the windshield from the left side...
sarah 08-01-2007, 12:23 AM I haven't had them on the rabbit, but I do know they are a direct fit
