Someone is skilled in Photoshop! In reality, this will never happen and the takeover is a move to protect VW from a hostile takeover and no more.

Um actually guys. PORSCHE, Volkswagen, and Audi are all colaborative partners. I mean hell the beetle originated from F.Porsche!!! That is not photoshoped, it may not be a real badge, however, Volkswagen and Porsche have a historic affair.

Really??? I didnt even know that!!
I think everyone was talkin mainly about the badge itself, not that Porsche & VW dont collaborate or whatever.

I found this article rather interesting, as it talks about what car companies are owned by whom.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/pw/brands.htm

Specifically this part:

"Finally, Porsche is a stand-alone company, half of which is owned by members of the Porsche and Piech families. Although it has a long association with Volkswagen, and major shareholder Ferdinand Piech (nephew of Ferry Porsche) was until 2002 head of the entire Volkswagen company, Volkswagen has no ownership role in Porsche."

Interesting eh?

It also states all companies that Volkswagen owns:
"Volkswagen also owns Audi, Lamborghini and Bugatti, definitely demonstrating a taste for the finer things in life, plus SEAT (Spain) and Skoda (Czech Republic)."

Just thought I would share:)

That article is 2 years old...

Porsche has upped their intended stake (20% stated by the article above) to a current 31%.

Last I read Porsche AG is currently gathering money (10 billion Euros) from lenders to buy outstanding Volkswagen AG shares outright so that they will be majority stakeholder.

First off, thats an emblem from a Porsche 914 which used a VW pancake motor.

Don't expect to see the 2 merging or Porsche buying VW any time soon. Porsche owns 31% of VW for the sole reason of it's now virtually impossible for either of the 2 companies to be taken over. This means that GM or Toyota cannot buy them and we will continue to have outstanding VW and Porsche products for years to come.

I dunno... recent media reports have Porsche amassing funds from a so-called worldwide lender network to buy enough outstanding shares of VAG to be the controlling stakeholder...

We'll see... may be nothing more than speculation.

which is a good possibility, but I don't believe Porsche will ever own VW. Either way, what's happening is very good imho

you know, i REALLY wanted to say that was a 914, but i wasn't 100% and i didn't have time to double check before work so i didn't touch it, but i'm glad i was right, haha.

It's the actual badge, not a Photoshop. In Europe, the 914 4-cylinders were sold at VW dealers and had a 914 VW-Porsche badge on the rear. the 6-cylinder 914's were sold at the Prosche dealers and had a Porsche badge.
