Looking for some input on the CC, probably best place to get the info I need is a VW forum so here I am.
Looking into purchasing a newer car, and I have come to really love the CC model. Honestly, first time I began to notice these cars from a passing glimps on the road I was thinking either a Jaguar or an expensive Audi. VERY classy looking automobile. Probably looking at purchasing a '10 model whatever we decide to purchase.
After researching, and lurking here a bit, decided to stop in at the local VW dealer. They basically let me spend a part of my day to test drive this car. Was a 2012 CC, 2.0T automatic trans., and was the basic model. A few impressions of the car after the test drive were it was pretty fast (I drag race my 70 Duster-so lets keep FAST relative speaking) and handled quite well especially hard cornering at brisk speed. All thats OK, but from the cars appearance it seems to have an identity crisis. "Comfort Cruiser"?? I also couldnt help but notice how loud the interior cockpit noise was, the road noice did not seem to match the elegance and classy appearance. Didnt mind the apparent growl of the turbo 2.0 so much, but also took notice to the fact that I could feel literally every minor crease in the road..like I was riding on huge wheels with rubber bands for tires.
So my question is: do the different model CC's have better ride characteristics than other CC's? (I drove a stock/new car-base model.) Would the Lux CC, or maybee the V6 model have a more plush and smoother ride?
Other vehicles on my list are the Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5, and the V6 Maxima. Both those cars have a far less firm ride than the CC I test drove, both cars look great and also sip gas despite the 280 hp V6 motors. As my luck would have it, caught a glimps of another CC on the road this afternoon ( R version with the trim pkg) and damn it looks great so I don't want to give up on the CC just yet.
THX in advance~Tom
