I'm looking for some help and suggestions. I recently found a nail/screwstuck in the front driver side tire. I just bought this car about two weeks ago so this stinks! I bought my 2009 CC (Sports trim) from a VW Dealer and it is a certified used but I'm pretty sure they don't cover nails in tires. The location of the nail won't allow it to be plugged. The tire isn't leaking air and holding pressure just fine but I don't want to keep pressing my luck on not replacing it.
I am looking to replace the original tire (Continental Tires) with eitherthe exact same tire or switching to a whole new brand. I have read there havebeen some issues with the Continental tires and so I'm worried that I will soon have trouble with the tires...19K miles on the current tires and no noticeable issues right now.
Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on which way I should go with a new tire? Should I stick with the Continentals or buy another brand? Everything is stock and with standard 235/45R17 Continental tires. I rather make the change in brand now than later.
Thanks in advance for any of the suggestions or thoughts. All appreciated!
