I bought my 2012 CC Lux on July 1, 2011 and currently have diriven 3,500 miles. I am a retired RF systems/test engineer and "TEST DROVE" my CC for the first 2,000 miles, logging any anomalies with the car.

I had a rattle in the rear seat that VW fixed by way of a technical bulletin, but also experienced "POOR FM reception on the RNS-315" as I drove around San Diego county. Took my CC into the dealership 2 times for this annoying FM fading problem and was told both times by the radio technician that worked the issue that the FM radio was working to VW Spec.

I even contacted VW Coustomer CARE in Michigan about the issue and essentially they contacted my dealership again and returned a solution as follows: 1). upgrade the radio ($800 expense) OR 2). renew my subscription with Sirius SAT radio. Both solutions were unacceptable to me.

Question for all CC LUX owners (excluding Lux Plus and Lux Limited owners). Is anyone else experiencing this FM fading problem with their RNS-315??

Easy way to determine this if your ears can't detect the FM fading is as follows:
How to access the RNS-315 Diagnostic Screen:
1). Tune the RNS-315 to a FM radio station
2). Press and hold the "SETUP" button on the RNS-315 for 4 to 10 seconds
3). Select "FM MONITOR"
4). The Diagnostic Screen will display with FM radio parameters
5). Notice "Q" (FM Quality) in upper right corner
6). As I drive around San Diego, Q changes from STEREO to MONO to POOR and
cycles through this quality sequence depending on my local terrain. When Q
displays POOR, the FM reception is static because it "lost lock" on the tuned FM Stereo
signal.

For some reason, VW dosen't want to recognize this as a FM fading problem and proclaims the RNS-315 is operating within VW SPEC. Two different San Diego VW dealerships gave the same run around.

Again...is any other CC Lux owner having FM fading problems with their RNS-315??

I have lux plus and the RNS 510 radio. But I will try it tomorrow. How did you even find the way into the diagnose screen?
