I think I heard that it's not possible to put a HID kit in my Mkv rabbit if I don't replace the headlight Component is that true?

Yeah... you definitely want to get light houses that are made to handle HID. Otherwise you are blinding oncoming traffic. And in most states I'm pretty sure it's illegal. I've seen ppl do it, but I wouldn't.

also, if im not mistaken ive heard of people actually melting their headlights by using HIDs with reflector lenses, those things get pretty hot

Ive had them...just had to run a capacitor to keep them from flickering no melting and all that...replaced with protectors much better beam
