Lil Bunny Foo-Foo 02-24-2007, 10:29 PM In this house it's Miller Light for me, Bud Ice for him, and Morgan and Coke when we don't want beer.

not sure. but we all get it at least once. i karma'd you a little while ago, tho. just tried to do it again and i haven't waited an hour yet.
foo-foo, i'm usually a miller lite drinker, too. it all started when my sister was (and still is) poor and came over and drank all the beer in my fridge (several times, i might add). during a casual conversation, i discovered that she absolutely HATED miller lite. it's been in my refrigerator ever since... ;D

Flopsy 02-24-2007, 10:50 PM Now don't jump my case, but I love natural light. And I don't want to hear any comments about me not having any taste. I have brewed beer, belonged to different beer-tasting groups and have tried over 300 different beers. But I was born and raised in St. Louis, hence the Anheuser-Busch product. Plus the natty light is extremely drinkable. That blue moon is some good stuff but a bit too creamy and sweet for more than one or two. Other beers I like: Caffrey's irish ale, Sierra Nevada pale ale, H.C. Berger mountain Kolsch, Flying dog tire bite Kolsch and the list goes on and on. I do love me some beer. All that typin made me thirsty, I'm gonna have to pop one open!

YOU HAVE NO TASTE! jkin.... The first time I called in on a radio station it was in response to the question, "There are over 20,000 different brands of what?" Some redneck called in and said tobacco, I got on right after he did, and said beer. Which was the correct answer, and I won a stuiped 15$ gift certificate to some bar that I never picked up. This wasn't too long ago, was about a week before the superbowl, and i thought I had won superbowl tickets.... such a waste of minutes.

those are sorta polar-opposite beers there. bud light and pbr on one side and guinness on the other. wow!
i do love me some bass ale off the tap AND more and more bars around here have bass and guinness on tap for a wonderful black and tan. now, i just gotta find a bartender who can mix them properly. seems all this is new to people around here.
anyone ever tried a beer called "oxford raspberry wheat"??? i used to drink that when i lived in maryland (laurel/ft.meade area, for those who want to know) and it was a WONDERFUL beer. still haven't seen any sam adams cream stout around here, either...

Lil Bunny Foo-Foo 02-25-2007, 11:12 PM I bought some Sam Adams Cherry Wheat the other night. It's ok...I like the cherry in it, but it's a bit bitter for my taste. Back in Charleston, we used to go to a restraunt called Hops. They made their own beer and had one called Clearwater Light that I LOVE. Had some really nice, subtle lemony tones in it. Great stuff.

My favorite beer is Bass Ale.
Besides beer, I like gin with or without tonic. And so far Boodles Gin is my favorite...

Killian's I can understand, but Peroni??? I'm half Italian myself and I don't even look twice at that stuff. I'm sorry but Italy can make great wine, fast cars and even faster women but as far as beer goes... stick to some good Belgium, German, or even the occasional American Micro Brew...Ofcourse this is just my own opinion, but I've tried long and hard to find an Italian beer that is a decent drink and sadly, I'm still searching. ;)

gcm89084 02-23-2008, 08:08 PM Warsteiner is probably my favorite, and also enjoy Spatan's fest beers too. I enjoy Bitburger if it is ice cold every once and a while.
DUSlider 02-23-2008, 08:10 PM I really don't have a favorite... I try to avoid carbonated beverages as they don't always agree with me... But if I do drink something it's usually, in no particular order, Yuengling, Samuel Adams, Woodchuck or Cider Jack...

Not a big drinker, but usually keep one MGD in the fridge.
Also like Fat Tire, Sam Adams, St Arnolds (local small brewerey).
Cheers!
I'm glad--and not surprised--to see that there's a diversity of tastes among this group. I spent six months studying in France in college and came back adapting parts of the European lifestyle into my own, which includes my passion for hatchbacks and good beer. Incidentally, these two passions should never be enjoyed at the same time...but they each have their time and place ;)
So my favorites:
Guinness Draught
Heffewiezen (German wheat beer, not brand specific)
Heineken
Sam Adams Boston Lager
Fat Tire Ale (New Belgium, a US microbrew)
Kronenbourg 1664 (French, and mostly for sentimental reasons)
Leffe de Noël (Belgian)
Amstel Light and Heineken Light (when the calories matter)

The way I see it....the hoppier the better. (How fitting in this forum)
bvbdortmund09 03-31-2008, 10:33 PM Fat Tire, Skinny Dip, Sunshine Wheat, Easy Street Wheat, Moose Drool, Sierra Nevada....:D:
phonics_monkey 03-31-2008, 10:56 PM New Glarus Brewing Company is huge up in Madison....Most parties here run off of Natty, PBR, or Keystone.
I usually only drink the beer if its MGD, High Life... but those are more rare.
I've found that I enjoy Leinenklugels Honeyweisse, and various other random stuff.
I love the Cap'n and coke... but he demands a tremendous bounty for what he brings to the table. His Fellow, Admiral Nelson, commands a slightly smaller booty from the wallet.
my goal in life is to never again touch Fleishmann's. Ever.
rhino43grr 03-31-2008, 11:14 PM miller lite or high life for the most part when i'm picking, the fiance and her friends like bud light better though so that somehow ends up being what we have in the fridge. every once in a while i'll pick up something i've never had before. back in the day it used to be natty light all the time (hmm, four of us can pitch in $5 and get a 12-pack of heineken or two 30-packs of natty, what shall we do?)
on the liquor end of things i like a nice jack daniels or soco and coke, gin and squirt (not gin and juice though, sorry snoop-a-loop) and good ol' tequila. rum's no stranger either.
trrabbit 04-01-2008, 07:49 AM anything from bell's or weyerbacher...those of you looking for a hop fix, try to get your hands on some bell's hopslam...AMAZING BEER.
northwest 04-01-2008, 08:41 AM i drink mainly wine nowadays.
Jeebs 04-01-2008, 11:20 AM Guiness if I'm drinking beers....or a Kamakazi as a drink with ice instead of as a shot.
Rabbit Farmer 04-01-2008, 11:38 AM Mainly local brew....
Vermont's Shed (Mountain Ale)
Vermont's Rock Art (Ridge Runner)
Vermont's Switchback... my favorite beer on the planet.
If I don't fancy a growler of the above, or in the case of Switchback which is generally only available at the tap, then I'll browse the beer case for the following:
(In no particular order)
Long Trail (Hit the Trail, Black Beary Wheat... yep, that's spelled BeAry, or their Ale)
Samuel Adams lager (you can keep that flavored or seasonal crap)
Yuengling's Black & Tan (the lager is okay)
Shiner Bock (Dallas, Texas)
For non-beer related, I love Arizona’s Arnold Palmer Lite / Half iced tea / half lemonade. Good stuff. 99-cents for 23.5 ounces.
Beyond that.... I often times drink this strange fluid like substance called water. I make it myself with two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen.

futility 04-02-2008, 11:59 PM When drinking beer, make mine Yuengling Lager (or Black & Tan, depending on mood), or Erie Brewing Company's Railbender Ale (Fall/Winter is when it's really good, as it is a bit thick, like "pot-roast in -a-bottle"... not exactly suitable for a hot summer's day).
During cold & flu season, I really like Spiced Rum & O.J.
grEsbunE 04-03-2008, 05:34 AM Old Style.
And the way the first 2 games of the season have gone...lots of it:)

dude, I know what you mean. the first time I tasted Shiner Bock in TX, it was all I wanted to drink afterward. It has a spot on my top ten.
Lately I'm into a Polish beer called Tyskie and a Italian called Peroni. Both are on par with Shiner

Rabbit Farmer 06-06-2008, 07:12 PM Yep, drink Shiner Bock every time I'm in Dallas. They have it a the Brickskeller in Washington, DC also.

Mi_Panic 06-06-2008, 08:45 PM everytime I go out west all I drink is Fat Tire, or Skinny Dip if it is in season. Around Michigan it is all about Bells Oberon and Magic Hat. I only drink miller lite/bud lite when camping.
kitty 06-06-2008, 08:47 PM mmm leinenkugel, another favorite of mine.

I'm stuck with miller lite :( My stomach seems to have grown sensitive, maybe I ate too many MRE's. Miller Lite is about the only thing that doesnt bother it.
Mi_Panic 06-06-2008, 08:51 PM Miller Lite is a pretty mild beer, but its still bed then Bud. I have also gotten a pretty sensitive stomach lately, I think from all the spicy food and hot sauce.
Häschen 06-06-2008, 09:04 PM Iron City, when I've got it...It's a Pittsburgh thing, most would not understand. If I don't have a "Pound of Iron" (16 oz bottle/can) in the house, I try to buy as local as possible w/i 100 miles or so. When I travel, I try to sample the local brews and even visit the resident breweries.
dysfunction 06-06-2008, 09:07 PM I've had Iron City, and I still don't understand.
I couldn't possibly narrow it down to a single beer choice for the purposes of this thread, after all, I've even been known to actually enjoy an OB.
Matt1288 06-06-2008, 09:33 PM My house is almost always stocked with Lambic Framboise, Blue Moon, and Stella
