so ive been reading into getting a suspension setup and i know the basics.
I want to lower my car about an inch and a half. I was going to get a set of the new coilovers, but realized there has to be a cheaper way to lower an inch and a half other than $420 + $500 for installation. So before i spend next to a grand for an inch and a half drop, is there any cheaper way other than springs and having my shocks die in a year?
Redrabbit07 seems to like his Raceland Coilovers; ~300 bucks and a DIY will get you there...

Changing just the spring for one and a half inch drop shouldn't kill your shocks for a year

Christ, $500 for install?
Get springs, your shocks will be fine for a year or two. Or get Racelands.
And don't pay $500 for install, for real. $150 for the install plus alignment. If you pay more than $250 for everything, you're getting ripped. Ask on Vortex if there are any locals that can do it, if you don't want to DIY.

Racelands and install should run me about $600-$650 then, right?
I'll check some other local places. I'm currently getting my vortex lip done for $75, which is a great deal i think, so i'll ask them if they do suspy as well.

For the install, there's a guy on MyFastGTI named HoopaChalupa, he's in SoCal (Huntington Beach I think). He's on air, if he didn't do it himself I'm sure he knows someone who can. Get on MyFastGTI and look for him, tell him you know DJ.
