Ok the door on our jetta wont disable the alarm. it manually unlocks the door and wont work the windows or other doors. I can open the trunk with the key and it disables the alarm. I contacted Vorderman Volkswagen and they said that its most likely the thing you put the lock in. they said its around 350 for them.

Yea, bad door latch. Most places charge two ho urs labor and retail is about 150 for the part. So it sounds right to me.
