I have an 08 Rabbit that I think may have a slight A/C issue. I thought I would post here and see what the general consensus was before taking it to the dealership. The car has 35000 miles on it.
I typically keep my air set right in the middle of the dial (72 Degrees). However, recently it has been really hot in SE Florida (of course, we're getting into the Super Heat Season) and I've tried lowering the dial, even all the way to 64. However, I don't notice a difference in the temperature of the air coming from the vents at all. I've tried this on both fresh air and recirculate. In order to make sure the dial wasn't stuck, I turned it above 72, all the way to 80 and it got really warm so I don't think the issue is a stuck dial. Does anybody know what might be happening with the air not getting any cooler or minimally so? I'm not really mechanically oriented from a car point of view but is there anything I can try at home before dragging to the dealership (it's not far, just time consuming).
Thanks in advance!
