: Raceland Coilovers.. questions
chmitche 05-17-2010, 03:47 AM Hey guys, this summer I plan on dropping my rabbit. I really like the price of the racelands, but also worried about some of the other kits that I see that are in the 800-1100 price range. People that have the raceland coils do they really meet your standards? How would you compare the ride to the stock suspension? Are they worth the extra money saved?
I drive a lot, I have one passenger multiple times a week, sometimes people in the back. I have stock rims on right now 16", Hopefully getting a new set of 17" this summer. I hate the the wheel gap I have right now, and hope that the combination of coilovers and new wheels will eliminate them.
I know this topic has been posted a lot lately but nothing has really answered my questions.
redrabbit07 05-17-2010, 06:49 AM search man, every one of the questions you have asked are the same questions that everyone asks. they definitely exceeded my standards, i thought oh 300 cant be as good as anything that cost a g. i was wrong. i love these and swear by them. if you spend 2x as much for coils you are a tard imo. yes they go plenty low. unless you want the extra adjustment of dampning or want to keep an oem ride there is no point in any other kit out there. the only way to keep your oem ride is to spend a G on B&G coils.

Rabbid0281 06-15-2010, 09:42 AM a buddy of mine has these and loves em, but ive heard these are mostly show only coils. ive heard that they blow out cuz they werent designed for DD use. I dunno, Im still partial to the Vmaxx coils, but thats why they always say, "you get what you pay for"
djwhiplash2001 06-15-2010, 12:56 PM Vmaxx were the cheapness before the Racelands were :p
redrabbit07 06-15-2010, 12:57 PM ^^ i can tell you 100% that that is not a true statement. 1.25 g's all weekend at the dragons tail. and dd them these are def a top notch item and worth way more then 300. ask anyone that owns them. if mine havent blown in the 7 months ive had them they wont blow for anyone else. i am super rough with them and have 0 complaints on quality ride or handling.
xfourevertruex 06-15-2010, 02:43 PM i have a question? anyone heard of raceland coilovers? they any good?
I was either gonna get those or h&r's but can't decide which to go with.
T di-G ti 06-15-2010, 06:50 PM Hey There,
I just installed a Raceland coilover kit this past week...for the price they're amazing! Not $2200.00 Koni's or Bilstien's but I love 'em. I have 15's on my Mk4 Tdi would love to go 17's but I'm IMPRESSED w/the ride and looks of this CHEAP set up. I set all 4 four corners at a central point in the spring adjustments as a starting point and I doubt that I'll change that. Haven't bottomed anything out yet...though I'm sure that may only be a matter of time. Otherwise...The car looks and handles GREAT! Somewhat of the "go-cart" feel but not at all uncomfortable. Handling is night and day from stock...again probably not what another $1500.00 might get you but it still is drmatically better. I personally like the sleeper look and other than a set of old Gti headlights w/HID added, a Gti front sway bar and O-Bar the car is stock. Great fun and cheap!

Rabbid0281 06-16-2010, 08:28 PM yeah i was kinda skeptical about these, but after moving to Louisiana, it will prolly be a good idea not to get these. the back roads i take are hellacious on the shocks. I been tempted to source long stroke rally shocks and get some tarmac rally tires, lol. if i go the long way theres plenty of uneven surfaces and railroad crossings(6x daily vs 4x back roads). I def want the car lower, still contemplating bags for the park'n'drop feature.
Chad Oner 06-25-2010, 11:04 AM I just bought a set today....How did the alignment go after you put them on? How much did it cost, and did they give you any Crap?

prenne5050 06-25-2010, 03:32 PM if you ebay raceland coilovers, they got em for 300 shipped. Im contemplating on these or shocks that are on sale on the tex for $150, not sure which route to go though
Chad Oner 06-26-2010, 03:28 PM Ive read that buying from ebay that you dont get the warrenty from raceland for the coilovers...spend the extra 17 bucks and buy them from the real website...they take paypal 2
russdawg24 06-26-2010, 06:25 PM I thought that the eBay seller was actually raceland usa
Chad Oner 06-28-2010, 07:14 PM eh, they might be... i dont feel like looking lol
