:off: General question. A guy in my office building has a 90 Nissan Skyline GTR, AWD, 2.6 Twin Turbo for sale. Steering wheel is on the opposite side. It has 30k miles and he's asking $14,500. Is that a good price? KBB doesn't even list that car for Private Sale price suggestions. Thanks.

Do you have a VIN? AFAIK, Skylines were never imported to the US. Some made it with a lot of paperwork. My bet is that it's either a converted car, or perhaps a genuine one w/ VIN plates from a different car. The VIN should give us some more info. A 1990 should be the R32 GTR, came with the RB26DETT engine.

To answer if the price is fair, yes. It's a very rare car. That is, of course, assuming that it is genuine and not a conversion. Even if it is a conversion, if it's clean, it could be worth a fair amount. Ask to see all the VIN numbers on the car, ask if it's a conversion, etc.

These cars can be brought into the US as "parts" then put back together after arrival and legally given a VIN for registration. Just takes a little experience with importing.

This is a good price on this rare car. Had a buddy just sell his R32 GTR for $22k with a few less miles, I believe.

I thought the older skylines were illegal to be in the states and would be seized by the u.s.

If you tried to straight up ship one in whole on boat, then yeah quite possibly.

Here in Canada you can have anything thats I believe is 15 years old and older. We have here in Halifax quite a few 4 or 5 Skylines, 300ZX, Supras, RX-7 FB's, Celica, 2 Soarers, Honda Beat ( awesome little convertible), Evo 5 or 6, Silvias (S13, S14) MR2's...... I'm sure theres more but thats all I can think of that I've seen.

Most of these look to be high end street tuned in japan and sent over of something. The Supra, RX-7 FB and one of the soarers are some of the nicest looking tuner cars I've ever seen.

Ive notice a few European cars making their way here now. theres a chick with a really nice Elise that sounds amazing.

I'll try to get a few pics of them sometime if I ever see them sitting still... LOL

sorry didnt want to rub it in.
