Hey, Dudes

When I say CAD$360 in 48mon term, I mean put all the extra money paid every month for ESP. Does it really worth?

There are 2 quotes in front of me, one is a base model rabbit and dealer asked for $100 over invoice + stupid $299 admin fee; the other asked for $250 over invoice + $299 admin fee for a base car with esp option only. ESP option is the only different between the two cars (except color). I am really confused now and do not know which one to go.

One of my co-worker told me, you can buy a set of good snow tires for $630 and use them for around 5 years and the tire offers better feature then ESP in winter here (Canada). I personally do not know if he is right or not but I am just confused now.

Pls offer me some of your suggestion.

Thanks,
/S

I know the Highway Institute is a big fan of it. They show a pretty good video on it's uses here: http://www.iihs.org/video.aspx?f=info/esc

It was a popular enough option in the US that they are now standard on all 09 models. I personally think it is worth it, it helps is more than just the snow and in the broad spectrum it's a small expense.

I would try to negotiate with the dealer, let them know your dilemma and see if they can cut you a deal. Dealerships are pretty pressured to make a sale these days.

Thanks for the info.

But I think I am already in the bottom of negotiation. Both of the dealers have told me their boss will not prove any of the lower price deal on the unit.

I have an '08 2dr no ESP, if it were me, I'd go for the electronics. Not for the snow, as much as for the ice. Snow tires don't really grip on ice more than all seasons, and you'll probably get an insurance discount too.

Cheers!

And welcome to the ROC!

go with esp. For an extra 100 bux it's worth it. Look at both cars and be sure the base model truely does NOT have the esp button. My car was not supposed to have it, but it did.

However did you get the $100 extra? The quote with ESP is $150 +$392 more than the base without ESP and after the payments for 48 mon, the extra amount will be around $630.

Are you kidding about the non-ESP car have the esp button?

As much as the ASR kept me on the road, ESP is most def worth having over ASR, i regret not getting it.

Sorry to ruin your day, but in my opinion if you live in a snow area here in Canada you need both the ESP and snow tires. The ESP is great for control, but it's not going to get you through thick snow, only snow tires can do that. I do have ESP and am very glad to have it, but, having driven the car without snow tires, I would say it needs them for sure.

I personally totally agree with you. But I do not think I asked if ESP can be instead of snow tire in winter in Canada. I just want to gather some opinion about if ESP worth the $630 over 4 years.

The answer you've gotten from every reply in this post is 'yes'. The answer you got from every reply in your last thread is 'yes'.

It does kind of read like that.

I thought ESP here was a $500 buck option. I squeezed my dealer to throw it in for free, but it is worth the money.
